Investors in Pupils
Investors in Pupils is a national quality charter mark award scheme which recognises the achievements of the whole school. It requires pupils to set themselves and their class meaningful targets which are not only related to learning but could also impact on behaviour, attendance, classroom management and induction. It supports children's development of responsibility, finance, enterprise and enhanced communication with parents and governors. It supports children's understanding of budget and staff roles in running the school.
It develops pupil participation and pupil voice and empowers young children to help change and improve their school. It impacts greatly on the improvement of health and well being education outcomes.
Over the last 2 years we have worked with children, staff, governors and parents to achieve this standard. We feel that pursuing this has enhanced the children's overall experience of school and led to an understanding that High Oakham Primary School is their school.
