The time has come to welcome you to
High Oakham Primary School!
Thank you for accepting your place at High Oakham Primary School for the academic year 2023/2024. We are so excited that you are joining our school community and we are hopeful that after the years of disruption, our transition arrangements can go ahead as planned, but please remember, we need to keep safety at the top of our priority list.
Please find below all the documents which you will need to prepare for a place in Reception/F2.
Do not forget to accept your place if you have been offered one at HOPS
Important dates for starting school Sept - 2023
Please note, these are provisional arrangements and are subject to change (dependent on Gov guidance and advice relating to the COVID-19 situation)

Monday 3rd July 2023 | New F2 Starter Information meeting - 5pm-6pm - parents only. This will take place in the school hall. Please come to main Reception where we will sign you in and take your paperwork off you. This is where you will need to have your child's 'birth certificate' if we do not already have it and your child's red book if we have not already seen it. |
Tuesday 4th July | New F2 Starter visits 12.30-3.30pm - this is your opportunity to come and have a stay and play session for an hour with your child. You will be allocated a time slot when you receive your paperwork. |
Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th September 2023 | Home visits (video calls if needed due to COVID issues if present) with your new teacher for those children who HAVE NOT had a home visit already when they were starting High Oakham Nursery. You will be sent your time slot through in July. |
Thursday 7th September 2023 | Visit to school 9.30-1pm - this will include having a school dinner free of charge which we are encouraging all children to access, however, if you feel that your child will NOT eat the school dinner, then please send them with a packed lunch which does not contain nuts.
You will be able to support your child into their visit from the playground outside the EY's building. Staff will support you if you need this, please mention any concerns around this transition during your paperwork meeting and/or home visit. |
Friday 8th September 2023 | Normal sessions start doors open from 8.50 - register is at 8.55 and collection time is 3.15pm with doors opening from 3.10pm |
