Please find below, information you will need in preparation for becoming part of our High Oakham community.

The time has come to welcome you to
High Oakham Primary School!
Thank you for accepting your place at High Oakham Primary School for the academic year 2026/2027. We are so excited that you are joining our school community and we are hopeful that after the years of disruption, our transition arrangements can go ahead as planned, but please remember, we need to keep safety at the top of our priority list.
Please find below all the documents which you will need to prepare for a place in Reception/F2.
Do not forget to accept your place if you have been offered one at HOPS

| 22nd April 2026 | You will receive a letter by email welcoming you to High Oakham Primary and reminding you to accept the place and asking you to come and pick up a welcome pack. We will also be sending you a link to complete a Microsoft forms all about your child and asking you to let us know which setting your child is currently attending if any. All paperwork back and forms completed by 6th May please |
| 11th May 2026 | All of our children who have not attended our school nursery will be allocated a home visit (if return paperwork has been received). We will release the home visit dates for you this week to choose a morning or an afternoon visit. |
| Week beginning 8th June 2026 | Home visits - 9th and 10th June 2026 |
| 23rd June 2026 | New F2 Starter Information meeting - 5pm-6pm - parents only. This will take place in main school - please note, there is no parking on . Please come to main Reception where we will sign you in and take any remaining paperwork off you. This is where you will need to have your child's 'birth certificate' if we do not already have it and your child's red book if we have not already seen it. |
| 30th June 2026 | New F2 Starter visits - Children already in our Nursery 9.30-10.30am - this is your opportunity to come and have a stay and play session for an hour with your child in F2 - all children to be accompanied by their adult. |
| 1st July 2026 | New F2 starter visits - Children new to High Oakham 12.30-1.30pm - this is your opportunity to come and have a stay and play session for an hour with your child in F2 - all children to be accompanied by their adult. |
| Thurs 3rd Sept 2026 | All F2 Starter children will attend for a 45 minute small group stay and play session to support transition into school - this will be a great opportunity for exploring all areas of the provision with staff, forming relationships and becoming familiar with routines. Times to be confirmed at home visit |
| Fri 4th Sept 2026 | Transition morning visit to school 9.30-1pm - this will include having a school dinner free of charge which we are encouraging all children to access, however, if you feel that your child will NOT eat the school dinner, then please send them with a packed lunch which does not contain nuts.
You will be able to support your child into their visit from the playground outside the EY's building. |
| Mon 7th Sept 2026 | Normal sessions start doors open from 8.40 - register is at 8.45 and collection time is 3.15pm with doors opening from 3.10pm |
