  • Sad news

    Sat 16 Nov 2019

    Morning everyone,

It is with great sadness that I have to let you know that the beautiful Mrs Booth passed away yesterday afternoon, 15th November. She was where she wanted to be, at home surrounded by her family.

I am sure you will join with me in sending our love to her family and friends.

‘We are never ready to say goodbye forever even though we know it is a part of life. This day our hearts are heavy for losing someone so special, but as we mourn your death, we also celebrate your life. Rest in peace Mrs Booth’

Please speak to your children about this sad news and let them know that we are all here for them to talk this through together.

Feel free to get in touch by email if you feel you need to:

  • #AntiBullyingWeek

    Sun 10 Nov 2019

We are celebrating #AntiBullyingWeek next week and the theme is:

    Small change.
    Big difference.

Whether it is verbal, physical, online or in-person, bullying has a significant impact on a child’s life well in to adulthood. By making small, simple changes, we can break this cycle and create a safe environment for everyone. Because together, we can challenge bullying. Change starts with a conversation. It starts with checking in. It starts with work together.

Wear #OddSocks on Tuesday 12th November to show your commitment to working together!

    Change starts here.
    Change starts now.
    Change starts with us.

At High Oakham Primary School, our 'learning and life' values promote a collective responsibility to recognise, prevent and tackle bullying.
'Resourceful, brave, reflective, cooperative, resilient and respectful'
We are kicking off #AntiBullyingWeek by introducing our school pledge to listen, to help and to take action. We reassure our children to be brave and report any concerns that they may have - be brave like Moana, the Octonauts, Brave or Batman!

Change starts with a conversation ...

  • Remembrance Day 2019

    Sun 10 Nov 2019

Tomorrow, we will remember the service and sacrifice of our armed forces, veterans and their families through a Remembrance Assembly. We acknowledge civilians and animals who lost their lives in conflict.
'At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them'

  • Apply now for a Primary School place

    Mon 04 Nov 2019

Children who are 5 years old between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021 or transferring from an infant school (year 2) to junior education (year 3) in September 2020 will require a school place for September 2020.

Every child living in Nottinghamshire will receive an application pack to their home address week commencing 4 November 2019. Other packs will be sent by the child’s Home Local Authority.

We recommend that parents apply online before the closing date of 15th January 2020 at  www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/schooladmissions  ensuring they receive the outcome of their application by email on National offer day of 16 April 2020. We also advise that they make 4 preferences in order starting with the one they would most like their child to attend.

Parents can find a wide range of useful information regarding the admissions process in the Admissions to Schools: Guide for parents 2020-2021 booklet here.

Parents can check their home authority at www.gov.uk/find-local-council. If they live in Nottinghamshire please contact us and we will forward a pack to their home address. If they live in a different local authority area the parent/carer must contact the relevant authority to ensure the child receives a pack to apply.

Applying on time increases the chances of parents being offered a school of their preference.

If you have any queries regarding the Primary admission process, please contact the School Admissions Team on 0115 804 1237or email admissions.ed@nottscc.gov.uk
